Review: Liam Gallagher delights on new single ‘Wall of Glass’ (Includes first-hand account)

Gallagher co-penned the tune with his producer, Greg Kurstin. This is definitely a turning point in his career, since it marks his breakthrough single as a solo artist. It is the lead track from his upcoming studio album, As You Were, which will be released on Warner Bros. Records.

His song’s music video, directed by Francois Rousselet, is perplexed, and it features the iconic front-man gazing in mirrors, with his reflection singing the lyrics. The song in itself has a bluesy vibe to it, with memorable guitar riffs, thumping drums, catchy hooks and strong melodies.

Earlier this month, Gallagher performed “Wall of Glass” at Ariana Grande’s “One Love Manchester” benefit concert in England, where the proceeds went to the families of the Manchester Arena bombing. His performance of the new single was well-received.

The Verdict

Overall, Liam Gallagher delivers on his new single “Wall of Glass.” The song is refreshing with a retro rock and soul vibe to it. The song’s music video is distinct and eerie yet creative. He proves to be still at the top of his game musically. Fans of Oasis would certainly be pleased with Gallagher’s new track. It garners 4.5 out of 5 stars.

“Wall of Glass” is available on iTunes.
