Review: Larger Than Life performs ‘Baywatch’ themed show at Mulcahy’s (Includes interview and first-hand account)

It featured an opening set from The Allmost Brothers Band, where they paid homage to the late Gregg Allman by singing his southern rock classics including “Midnight Rider.”

When Larger Than Life took the stage, all five band members (Edvin, Chris, Toly, Price and Devin) wore their bathing suits and Baywatch and summer beach clothing, and their stage was decorated in surfboards. They went on to sing all of their signature boy band songs, including their namesake song “Larger Than Life,” which was followed by ‘N Sync’s “Tearin’ Up My Heart.”

Other noteworthy tunes included the Backstreet Boys ballad “I Want It That Way,” which allowed their vocals to shine, as well as their New Kids on the Block medley and ‘N Sync’s “Bye Bye Bye.” The majority of their fans, which are affectionately known as the Larger Than Life Army, were in attendance, and several of them celebrated their birthdays with them, which included their dedicated fan Deana.

The only thing that was missing from their set last night was The Beach Boys’ “Surfin’ USA,” but hopefully, they will include it at a future Larger Than Life summer concert.

Most impressive about this event is that it offered free admission to anyone with a Baywatch attire, and the best Baywatch costume of the evening won a beach chair.

Baywatch actress Alexandra Paul, who portrayed Lt. Stephanie Holden on the iconic television show, remarked, “I am tickled that Baywatch is considered part of American pop culture lore, even if it is for a laugh. Being the theme for a party in Wantagh is a high compliment!”
