article imageReview: kirstin glorious on new 'Break A Little' single and music video Special

By Markos Papadatos     May 19, 2017 in Music
kirstin is back with her debut solo single "Break A Little." She is best known as the sole female member of the Grammy-winning group Pentatonix.
Her breakthrough radio single "Break a Little" is the first of new music from kirstin. The songstress is expected to release her debut solo EP this summer via the record label RCA Records. The track was produced by David Pramik, and while it is a slight departure from her musical work with Pentatonix (which is known mostly for their a cappella arrangments), her voice is as powerful as ever, and she takes the listener on a musical journey in this relationship tune.
The single is extremely radio-friendly with a Demi Lovato vibe to it, which ought to be taken as a major compliment. There is a rawness and authenticity to the melancholic lyrics of "Break a Little," to the point where they are pure poetry.
The Verdict
Overall, kirstin delights on the mellifluous "Break a Little." She can give any contemporary female pop recording artist a run for their money. Her soaring vocals on "Break a Little" are top-notch and compelling. She is not afraid to display her vulnerability, which in return, is the listener's reward. Her voice is simply too good to be mortal. "Break a Little" garners five out of five stars.
"Break a Little" is available on iTunes and on Spotify.
