Review: Karen Waldrup wonderful on Lee Ann Womack’s ‘I Hope You Dance’ (Includes first-hand account)

“I’m going to sing ‘I Hope You Dance’ by Lee Ann Womack and this goes out to anybody today that is facing a hard decision in their life, or if you are having a hard day. It’s goes out to you,” she said. Waldrup covered the country classic as a Facebook Live stream on her page, and it has been viewed almost 10 million times. The control she maintains over her crystalline voice is impressive. There are no gimmicks here, just one talented woman, who accompanies herself on acoustic as she sings a song that is from the heart.

This is quite an accomplishment and the songstress perceived it as a “Thanksgiving blessing.” “Every single fan is important to me and I can’t express my gratitude for each one of them enough,” she said.

Waldrup is able to introduce the inspirational “I Hope You Dance” to a brand new generation of fans and country listeners.

The Verdict

Overall, Karen Waldrup does a phenomenal job covering Lee Ann Womack’s “I Hope You Dance.” Her vocals are nostalgic and reminiscent of fellow country songstress Jo Dee Messina. She deserves an “A” rating for a job well done.
