Adams‘ new album opens with the acoustic ballad “The Road,” which instantly lures the listener in this musical effort. It is followed by the up-tempo yet reflective tune “Back Then.” Equally fun is the optimistic “Fly,” which has a liberating vibe to it.
He slows down the pace with the moving ballad “Don’t Hold It Against Me,” where he displays his resonant, baritone voice. He shows his wide range as a recording artist on the bluesy and inspirational “Good Rain or Jesus,” which contains elements of gospel, soul and Christian music. After the mid-tempo “Feel That Feeling,” the CD closes with the uplifting and fun song “How It Rolls,” as well as “Green Grass Blue Water.”

With Horizon, Justin Adams showcases his growth and maturity as a country singer-songwriter; moreover, the guitar work is quite intricate. This collection is recommended for all country music fans and Justin Adams fans. They will not be disappointed. The CD garners 4.5 out of 5 stars.
