Huntington - On June 23, rising songstress Jillian Steele opened for headliner Hunter Hayes at The Paramount in Huntington, for a great turnout.
Steele kicked off her set with "Not Perfect," where she showed her crisp vocals, as she was accompanied by an acoustic guitar played. She shared that she is from Huntington, New York, and she is very honored to be opening for country star Hunter Hayes at The Paramount.
She immediately broke into "23" and with the upbeat and refreshing "Find Me," which is the title track of her latest EP. 'Huntington, sing along," she said. One of the highlight songs of the night was "Miles," featuring her expressive voice.
After a sip of water, she introduced her talented guitar player, Skot Bradley, who is from Nashville, and they delivered a stunning version of "Same Song," as fuchsia and yellow lights dimmed from the stage. "Thank you so much to The Paramount for having me," she said, graciously.
She delivered a charming cover of Maren Morris' "80s Mercedes," and continued with her new song "Idk About U," which is available on iTunes. She closed with "Property." "Thank you guys so much," she reiterated. "I've had the best night with you guys. Thanks for having me."
The Verdict
Overall, Jillian Steele's opening set was fun and entertaining. Her looks are reminiscent of such country songstresses as Lauren Alaina and Kelsea Ballerini, and her vocals were spot-on. Her bubbly performance was evident for the entire 30-minute duration of her set. Steele's show garnered an A rating.
