Review: Jessie Chris makes dazzling debut at Stage 17 for NASH FM 94.7 (Includes first-hand account)

“Hi. How is everybody doing today,” said NASH FM air personality Katie Neal, as she made the welcoming remarks and introduced Jessie Chris. “How’s it going guys?” Chris asked, prior to introducing herself and noting that she would be performing three new songs for the NASH FM audience that was gathered at Stage 17.

Chris opened her set with “When You Call Me Baby,” where she accompanied herself on acoustic guitar, and percussion, which was played by Jonathan. She went on to thank NASH FM for being so supportive of her music career and for playing her song, which is important for any new artist

She shared that she never performed this song anywhere before, and the same was true for the follow-up song “Better Off Gone,” which was more uplifting and liberating, and her breathy vocals were reminiscent of Taylor Swift.

Chris closed her three song mini-concert with her brand new single, the unapologetic and spitfire break-up song “Burn.” It is a tune that many listeners can easily relate to its lyrics and message, especially anybody who has experienced a failing romance. “Give it up for Jessie Chris,” Katie Neal exclaimed, prior to do a quick question and answer session with Chris.

A Massachusetts native, Chris revealed that her music is a blend of country and pop, and her two greatest musical influences were Rascal Flatts and Keith Urban.

The Verdict

It was great to hear new music from Jessie Chris at the exquisite Stage 17 for NASH FM 94.7. Despite fighting allergies, the young songstress was able to put on a solid performance. Her bubbly personality was evident throughout the show. With Jessie Chris, what you see is what you get. Her live set earned four out of five stars. Well done.
