Niemann shared the stage with fellow country singers Canaan Smith, Michael Ray and rising artist Drew Baldridge. DJ Deuce was spinning records and entertaining the crowd with his DJ set.
The Kansas native opened his set with the slow song “What Do You Want,” which was delicate and nostalgic, featuring his smooth and sultry voice. “I see some damn fine Americans drinking cold beer,” he said, prior to singing a drinking song that went to the top of the country charts. His acoustic rendition of “Drink to That All Night” was infectious and impressive. “Are you feeling good out there tonight?” he asked, and it was met with a tremendous response from the Long Island audience.
The highlight song of his set was his latest radio single, “God Made a Woman,” which he claimed as his “favorite song he ever recorded,” and rightfully so. Ironically enough, it was co-written by country sensation Michael Ray, who was standing on the same stage as him. His live rendition of the romantic ballad was filled with raw and tender emotions, and it is evident that it deserves to be his next chart-topping single.
“Thank you for coming here on a school night so to speak,” he told his fans, implying the Wednesday night concert. He closed with his No. 1 single “Lover, Lover,” which was upbeat and a great deal of fun. “Thank you for having us here tonight,” he concluded.
