Review: James Wesley stuns on ‘Thank a Farmer’ acoustic cover (Includes first-hand account)

Wesley really captures the rawness of the song, and the authenticity of the lyrics. This song has been good to Wesley at festivals, fairs and farm shows. Most impressive about the poignant tune and its lyrics is that it speaks to the everyday working man, and coming from Kansas, this song hits home for Wesley. The music that he puts out for his fans is “real,” to quote his Top 25 country single.

Equally noteworthy was Wesley’s acoustic cover of the Merle Haggard classic “The Way I Am.”

The Verdict

Overall, James Wesley delivers on his acoustic version of “Thank a Farmer.” He performs it the way it was intended to, and has managed to captivate his listening audience doing so. He continues to be one of the most underrated male artists in country music, and it is time for Wesley to get the credit that he deserves (especially at a time when there is so much fluff on country radio). Well done James Wesley.
