Review: Home Free glorious on ‘God Bless the USA’ by Lee Greenwood (Includes first-hand account)

Their version of “God Bless the USA” is simply divine, and they dedicated it for veterans everywhere. The song’s music video was directed, filmed and edited by Reilly Zamber, McKenzie Zamber, and Jimmy Bates for FifGen Films, which really captures the essence and mood of the original recording.

Most impressive about the video is that it ends with the following inspiring quote from President Abraham Lincoln: “Honor to the soldier and sailor everywhere, who bravely bears his country’s cause. Honor, also, to the citizen who cares for his brother in the field and serves, as he best can, the same cause,” which is food for thought.

Home Free’s vocal performance is glorious, and they have maintained solid control over their voice. All five members contribute something unique to this arrangement of “God Bless the USA.” It truly gets the listener in the patriotic spirit, and it is the quintessential tune to listen to on a Memorial Day weekend or Fourth of July holiday.

The Verdict

Home Free’s a cappella rendition of “God Bless the USA” should be enjoyed for its beauty and simplicity.
Lee Greenwood himself would have been proud of this exceptional cover. It garners an A rating.
