Review: France Joli amazing at Mulcahy’s Pub and Concert Hall in New York (Includes first-hand account)

This show was part of her “Birthday Bash” during President’s Day Weekend. DJ Johnny Iovino provided the music for the entire evening, and he was able to get the crowd on their feet.

Her version of her signature song “Come To Me” was simply divine, and the same was true for the lengthy disco medley (in excess of 10 minutes) that she performed, where she showcased her tremendous pipes; moreover, she was able to take all of these hit disco singles and introduce them to a new generation of audience.

Most impressive about Joli is that she sang all of the disco songs in the same key that she recorded them in, which is quite impeccable. It is safe to say that Joli gets better with age and experience.

The Verdict

Overall, France Joli was fabulous at Mulcahy’s Pub and Concert Hall, and this show was the quintessential way for her to celebrate her birthday (with her dedicated fans and listeners). Disco music never sounded more fresh and relevant. There were no gimmicks, only a woman with a powerful voice who was able to send chills down one’s spine as she belted out all of theses classic disco recordings. Joli is worth seeing live whenever she is in the area. Her live show is filled with nostalgia and sentimentalism. She earned five out of five stars. Congratulations.
