The album features the song “Smooth,” in which they show their soft side, and it is followed by a mid-tempo title tune, the autobiographical “Dig Your Roots.” They display their laid-back and mellow side on “Life Is A Honeymoon,” where they collaborate with Ziggy Marley.
Equally impressive is their chart-topping single “H.O.L.Y.” and the melodically-stunning “Island.” “May We All” is a duet with country mega-star Tim McGraw.
Florida Georgia Line knows how to throw a party on “Summerland,” and “Lifer” is another soothing vocal. “Good Girl, Bad Boy” is another noteworthy story song. “God, Your Mama, And Me” is a pleasant collaboration with the Backstreet Boys, and it works out well. It closes with the charming acoustic love ballad “Grow Old,” and the flirty “Heatwave.”
The Verdict
Overall, Florida Georgia Line delivers on their latest studio offering Dig Your Roots. It earns four out of five stars.
