Review: Davis Mallory releases new music video for funky single ‘Loud’ (Includes first-hand account)

“Loud” is the title track of his new EP. The song was co-penned by Mallory, Mitchell Rose and Timothy Ryssemus, and it was subsequently produced by Ricca Vita and J. Hanna; moreover, his music video was directed by Derrick Lipschitz, and he helps capture the erotic intensity of the song.

The music video features Mallory dancing provocatively with female models, all while holding leashed men in cat masks. In addition, the video emphasizes his interest in being both a recording and visual artist. His Himalayan cat, Xena, makes a cameo in the video.

The song is a mid-tempo, funky summer dance tune that deals with hooking up with someone one quietly desires. This song was inspired by another person that he had a crush on, but at the time, he could not figure out how that other person felt about him. This project is a labor of love for Mallory since it has allowed him to channel his emotions into his music, while hoping that they will resonate with other listeners.

The Verdict

Overall, “Loud” has an electro-pop vibe, with a neat echo effect to it. Mallory’s voice is sultry, and Marshall Cunningham is featured on backing vocals. The music video is artistic and creative, and he emerges as the male version of Lady Gaga, a comparison which ought to be taken as a compliment. The song “Loud” and its music video earn four out of five stars.
