Review: David Cook and Daughtry will blow you away with rock classics (Includes first-hand account)

This was a part of the celebrity auction at Midland Theater for the Big Slick Celebrity Weekend, which benefits Children’s Mercy Hospital of Kansas City in Missouri. For more information on the Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, check out its official website.

Both musicians accompanied themselves on acoustic guitars. They covered “I Won’t Back Down” by Tom Petty, where Daughtry and Cook both soared on harmonies. Their voices blended well together, and they were soothing and powerful at the same time. Equally compelling was their version of “The Chain” by Fleetwood Mac, as everybody was singing along with them. Their performance garnered a warm reception, and rightfully so.
