Review: Darlene Love terrific at Queens College’s Kupferberg Center (Includes first-hand account)

A Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Love had the New York crowd with her every step of the way. She took her fans on a trip down memory lane with her classic hits “He’s Sure the Boy I Love,” the sassy “He’s a Rebel,” “(Today I Met) The Boy I’m Gonna Marry,” as well as her distinct version of “River Deep, Mountain High.” “Da Doo Ron Ron” was a crowd sing-along, and she also performed songs from her latest studio album, which included “Among The Believers” and her refreshing single “Forbidden Nights.”

The Verdict

Overall, Darlene Love was able to deliver at the Kupferberg Center for the Performing Arts. There was a great feeling of nostalgia in Queens College’s Colden Auditorium. Her powerhouse voice is still in top notch form. Her live concert garnered an A rating.
