Review: Darin & Brooke Aldridge release amazing ‘Inner Journey’ album (Includes first-hand account)

It opens with the mid-tempo and breathy “I Found Love,” and it is followed by the poignant “Someone’s Everything.” Darin and Brooke did a superb job covering Patty Loveless’ uptempo “Tear-Stained Letter.” They slow down the tempo on the harking acoustic ballad “When You Love Someone.”

“This Flower” is glorious and atmospheric, and they pick up the pace with “Sweet Companion.” Other noteworthy cuts include ”
Teach Your Children,” the mellifluous “Trouble in the Fields,”

After the heartfelt “End of a Long Hard Day,” it closes with “Emmylou” and on a fitting note with “Your Lone Journey,” where they leave their fans wanting to hear more.

Inner Journey is available on Apple Music and on Spotify.

The Verdict

Overall, Darin and Brooke Aldridge are divine on their latest studio offering Inner Journey. Brooke Aldridge’s voice is pure as the driven snow, and Darin lends his velvet harmonies on this project. Brooke proved that her recent win for 2019 “Female Vocalist of the Year” at the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) awards was very deserving. It is highly eclectic and there is something in it for everybody. Inner Journey garners an A rating.
