Similar to an episode of Mindfreak, the music video for “We’re Not Gonna Take It” was filmed in a desert and it opens with some puzzling statistics, where every two minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer; moreover, it shared that childhood cancer receives only four percent of the federal funding for research in America. Most striking is that cancer is the leading cause of death by disease among children.
Twisted Sister front-man Dee Snider nails a piano-driven version of “We’re Not Gonna Take It,” with his powerhouse voice. The music video closes with a message that “You can make a difference,” and rightfully so.
The Verdict
Overall, Dee Snider’s spitfire vocals on “We’re Not Gonna Take It” are bold and as powerful as ever. It is a bravura vocal performance that deserves to be applauded. Criss Angel has done a brilliant job directing this music video, as this cause hits home to him, especially since his young son, Johnny Chrisstopher, was diagnosed with leukemia and is in remission.
