Review: Carlton Anderson releases flirty country single ‘Drop Everything’ (Includes first-hand account)

Most recently, Anderson released a stripped down version of the flirty song, which allows the listener to enjoy his rich, baritone voice in its purest form. His vocals are reminiscent of neo-traditional country artist Josh Turner, and that ought to be taken as a compliment.

Anderson hails from Cypress, Texas. His breakthrough single “Drop Everything,” released via Arista Nashville, was co-penned by such songwriters as Rhett Akins, Matt Dragstrem, and Ashley Gorley. The tune is about taking risks and going after what you want, in this case a girl who is with another guy. For Anderson, the song is somewhat autobiographical, and it will resonate well with his listening audience, especially his male fans.

“Drop Everything” is available on iTunes and on Spotify.

The Verdict

Overall, Carlton Anderson delivers on his new single “Drop Everything.” His talent in the country genre seems promising. Anderson has a sound that is missing on the country airwaves, and it would be great to hear him on heavy rotation in the near future. He manages to stay true to his country roots. “Drop Everything” garners 4.5 out of 5 stars.
