article imageReview: Big & Rich rocks on new country album 'Did It for the Party' Special

By Markos Papadatos     Sep 15, 2017 in Music
Country duo Big & Rich is back with their brand sixth studio album "Did It for the Party." Digital Journal has the scoop.
Their new CD opens with their mid-tempo and refreshing lead single "California," which gets the listener hooked from the first verse. It is followed by the sassy and upbeat title track tune "Did It for the Party."
"Congratulations (You're a Rockstar)" ought to be their next radio single due to its fun vibe. They soar on harmonies on "Turns Me On," and they slow down the pace on the mellow "Wake up Wanting You," and it works.
"Smoke in Her Eyes" is another keeper, due to their sincere lyrics and country storytelling. It continues with the spitfire "No Sleep," and "We Came to Rawk" is also a great deal of fun.
After "Funk in the Country," it is followed by the mid-tempo "The Long Way Home" and "Freedom Road."
One of the highlight tracks on the new Big & Rich CD is My Son," which they dedicate to their sons. They are joined by The Isaacs on harmonies, who help bring this tender song to another level. Pure bliss.
The album closes with the scorching ballad "Lie, Cheat or Steal."
The Verdict
Overall, Big & Rich is back with another solid studio effort. It is a very versatile project that is recommended for all Big & Rich fans. Did It for the Party garners 4.5 out of 5 stars.
The latest album is available on iTunes.
