Review: Bastian Baker tips his hat to Leonard Cohen with ‘Hallelujah’ (Includes first-hand account)

Baker performed this timeless song at a tour stop on Shania Twain’s “Now” World Tour, and he did an exceptional job. His vocals were crisp and controlled, and the song resonated well with the audience as they lit up the venue with their cell phone lights, thus producing a beautiful sight.

His music is available on iTunes and on Spotify.

The Verdict

“Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen is a song that has been covered to death by countless others, however, Bastian Baker does a solid rendition, as he accompanies himself on acoustic guitar. It is evident that Baker took a risk covering this song, but it paid off. He was able to introduce this perennial recording to a younger generation of fans. It garnered 4.5 out of 5 stars.
