Review: 98 Degrees stunning on new original holiday song ‘Season of Love’ (Includes first-hand account)

“Season of Love” features Nick Lachey’s velvet vocals and the group’s soulful harmonies; moreover, the mid-tempo tune has a neat echo effect that makes it pure ear candy. Nick Lachey, Jeff Timmons, Drew Lachey and Justin Jeffrey deliver on the four-part harmonies as always. Most remarkable about “Season of Love” are its heart-warming lyrics, which help paint a vivid picture in the minds of their listeners.

Their Christmas tour will kick off on November 9, and it will wrap up on December 23. It will include a tour stop at the NYCB Theatre at Westbury in New York on November 26.

Their upcoming holiday album, Let It Snow, will be released on October 20 on UMe. This project was recorded this summer in Los Angeles. This marks their first full-length Christmas album in 18 years.

The Verdict

Overall, 98 Degrees‘ “Season of Love” is an exceptional track from their forthcoming studio album. While it is only September, the song is able to instantly put the listener in the holiday spirit. It has catchy instrumentation, coupled with its nostalgic lyrics. This song deserves to become a Christmas classic in its own right. “Season of Love” garners an A rating.

“Season of Love” is available on iTunes.
