Op-Ed: The Doobie Brothers belong in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Throughout their respected career in the music industry, The Doobie Brothers have earned four Grammy awards, and they have sold in excess of 48 records worldwide, which includes three multi-platinum, seven platinum and 14 gold albums; moreover, The Doobies have secured five Top 10 singles, as well as 16 Top 40 hits on the Billboard charts.

Most impressive about The Doobie Brothers is that they received the coveted and rare Diamond Award, which is a distinct feature.

They continue to perform over 80 concerts a year all over America, and they have secured dedicated fan-bases all over the world including Australia, Japan, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. They are a band that always gives back for causes that are dear to their hearts. The charitable organizations that they are involved with includes the Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital, Stand Up to Cancer, The National Wildlife Foundation, and many veterans non-profit charities. They have also donated their musical equipment to help advance music programs in schools.

On July 28, The Doobie Brothers performed with Chicago at the Jones Beach Theater in New York, where anybody who doubts their ability to rock, ought to see a highlight reel from that Long Island show. It is proof that they deserve a spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which they have so richly earned.
