Chic: Nile Rodgers was inducted last year with the “Award for Musical Excellence,” and now he deserves to be there with his soul and funk group Chic. They have had multiple nominations (eleven) for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and their long musical track record is evident that this streak should be over, and their induction should be coming in the near future.
Def Leppard: Def Leppard has been killing it for over three decades. Most recently, they celebrated the 30-year anniversary of Hysteria, and a nod to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which they so richly deserve, would be the perfect homage to this electrifying rock group. Joe Elliott, Rick Savage, Rick Allen, Phil Collen and Vivian Campbell all deserve to be in.
The Doobie Brothers: The Doobies have garnered four Grammy awards, and the group has sold over 48 million records worldwide, which includes three multi-platinum, seven platinum and 14 gold albums. They have had five Top 10 singles, as well as 16 Top 40 hits on the Billboard charts. If that weren’t enough, they earned the prestigious “Diamond Award.” This summer, The Doobie Brothers were out touring with Chicago.
Marshall Tucker Band: When it comes to southern rock, the most noticeable omission from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is The Marshall Tucker Band. Original member Doug Gray (lead singer and front-man) and the band members have been touring for over 45 years, and their signature songs “Can’t You See,” “Heard It In a Love Song,” “Fire on the Mountain” and “Blue Ridge Mountain Sky” are southern rock classics.
The Moody Blues: The Moody Blues rightfully deserve a spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They have sold over 70 million albums, and they have 18 platinum and gold records to their credit. Their July 12 concert at the Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh on Long Island was stellar, featuring all of their signature rock classics.
