Lifehouse talks ‘Looking for Summer’ tour with Switchfoot (Includes interview)

Regarding their summer tour, Jason said, “We are actually putting out a Greatest Hits album for the first time in 17 years, so that is going to coincide with the tour. We are going to tailor-make our sets accordingly. We are going to be playing a lot of the singles from the albums that we have released over the last 17 years. It’s going to be really exciting.”

Bryce added, “The Switchfoot guys are amazing dudes, and they have had a parallel career to ours over the last 17 years. We have shared a lot of similar fans and our music compliments each other’s well. They are really great dudes and family-oriented. It is fun to share the summer with them.”

On August 10, Lifehouse will be playing at the Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park, New Jersey, and on August 12, they will be performing at the Ford Amphitheater at Coney Island Boardwalk in Coney Island, Brooklyn. “It’s a fantastic place to be playing. We love New York, and have spent so much time there over the years. We are excited to come and play there,” Jason said.

From their catalog, Bryce and Jason concurred that “Broken” and “Flight” as their two personal favorite tunes. Rising songstress Brynn Elliott will serve as their opening act for every show date on the tour. “We’ve heard wonderful things about her,” they said.

Bryce and Jason listed Norah Jones and Lana Del Ray as their dream collaboration choices. On the key to longevity in the music industry, they said, “There isn’t a formula to it. For us, it’s about enjoying the process and keeping our integrity by moving forward musically and moving forward as individuals. We are always trying to explore what life brings to us. That’s what has been keeping our longevity. We enjoy what we are doing, and that’s what keeps our careers alive.”

For their dedicated fans, they concluded, “We are excited to reconnect with the fans in some of these places and markets that we haven’t been in a long time. It’s going to be a really fun, energetic show and it’s going to be a good time.”

They defined the word success as “Being able to still have that passion every single night, and never been tired of playing our songs. Still feeling the life to those tunes, and having fulfillment in what we are doing.”
