By Markos Papadatos     Oct 2, 2016 in Music
The late Grammy-winning country star Lynn Anderson is remembered on what would have been her 69th birthday on September 26.
Anderson passed away on July 30, 2015, at the age of 67.
Anderson is best known for her signature song "I Never Promised You a Rose Garden," which earned her the Grammy award for "Best Female Country Vocal Performance." Following her death, country superstars Tim McGraw and Martina McBride performed that song in her honor.
Speaking of that country classic, "Rose Garden" turned 45 years old back in December of 2015, thus proving that it can stand the test of time.
At the time of its release, her Rose Garden album was the best-selling country album by a female artist for 25 years until Shania Twain came along.
On June 15, 2016, Anderson was honored with her own day in Tennessee, "Lynn Anderson Day"; moreover, the 2016 Grammy awards paid homage to her in their "In Memoriam" segment.
