Kenny and Amanda Smith nominated for 2016 IBMA awards

This year, Kenny Smith has been nominated for the IBMA award for “Guitar Play of the Year.” He has won this award twice in his career, and he is launching his own guitar-focused website. Kenny noted that his goal is to offer guitar lessons, instruction and product reviews, among other things. His new website is expected to go live by the end of August. He has been hailed as one of the “most influential flatpicking-style” guitar players.

On the other hand, his wife, Amanda Smith, is in the running for “Female Vocalist of the Year,” an honor she won back in 2014.

Both musicians felt very humbled by both of their nominations in their categories. The bluegrass couple released their lead single, “You Know That I Would,” which is off their upcoming studio album, Unbound, which will be out on September 23, 2016.
