Interview with Carly Pearce: ‘Hide The Wine,’ plans for 2018 (Includes interview)

In mid-October, Pearce performed for “Up Close and Country” at NASH FM 94.7’s Stage 17. “Stage 17 was super fun. I love all of the guys that work over there. I had a great time,” she said.

Her latest radio single, “Hide The Wine,” was penned by Ashley Gorley, Luke Laird and Hillary Lindsey. “‘Hide The Wine’ showcases a completely different side of my personality. I’m a huge red wine fan. It is a fun, sassy and flirty confession bout something so many women go through when they drink too much,” she said.

Pearce’s breakthrough single, “Every Little Thing,” topped the Billboard Hot Country Airplay charts, and she made history doing so. This marks the highest charting debut single by a solo female artist since July 2015, and she joins and elite group of only three women to accomplish this milestone in the last 12 years. “I don’t even know how to put it in words how that felt. It was something I will never forget in my whole life. I dreamt about that forever,” she said. “To be in the same sentence with Kelsea Ballerini and Carrie Underwood is pretty awesome!”

For 2018, Pearce revealed that she is excited to join Blake Shelton and Thomas Rhett on their headlining tours. “Then, we have some other really awesome things for the summer and the fall We will be hitting the ground running, and I will be ready to get back,” she said.

Thus far, the Brett Young tour has been an “awesome” experience for Pearce. “Brett is such a dream to work with. His crowds have been amazing, and they have embraced me so much. We are both such storytellers, so it has been a great pairing for a tour,” she said.

Digital transformation of country music

On the impact of technology in the country music business, she said, “Five, 10 or 20 years ago, you didn’t have an inside look into artists’ lives, the way that you do now. We have opened the doors into our personal lives, and we have a really strong, direction connection artist to fan, and that makes them feel more invested and more a part of our lives. That’s a special thing, and they get to see the normalcy side, which is important,” she explained.

Pearce continued, “I love social media. It’s the best way to connect with fans on a daily basis and show them pages out of my life.”

The songstress listed Keith Urban as her dream male duet choice in country music.

For her fans, she said, “I am so excited for them to hear a complete change of who I am. Get ready to have some fun with Carly Pearce with ‘Hide The Wine’ instead of being sad with ‘Every Little Thing’.”

Pearce’s debut studio album, Every Little Thing, released on Big Machine Records, is available on iTunes.
