New York - Warner Bros. recording artist Spencer Ludwig chatted with Digital Journal about being on the Bebe Rexha tour and his plans for the future.
Ludwig is a trumpeter, singer, producer, and dancer who rocks alligator shoes. He described his musical genre as "funky pop." He had nothing but the kindest remarks for the record label, Warner Bros. "It has been incredible. I owe them everything. They got me started. They saw me and decided to invest and build and together we have created this whole thing. It has been a great, collaborative process," he said.
On March 29, he will be performing at Irving Plaza in New York City, and two days later on March 31, they will be playing in Warsaw in Brooklyn. "I'm very excited about Irving Plaza. It's a hometown show for me at a legendary venue. I played there many times with other bands but never as myself, so I'm really excited," he said. "New York is always a place where you want to bring your best. You can expect a high-energy show and I love crowd participation. We will be excited to be in New York."
He continued, "Warsaw is the last show of the Bebe Rexha tour and I happen to live walking distance from the Brooklyn venue, so it is really symbolic that it ends in my neighborhood."
Regarding his song "Fuel to the Fire," he said, "I've faced a lot of challenges and challenging people along my journey to get to where I am at. That song was a therapeutic writing process of letting people and those challenging things become a song to use to propel me forward to the right direction. 'Fuel to the Fire' is a welcoming song."
Throughout his career, Ludwig has performed on Fox TV's NFL Honors special during Super Bowl weekend in Houston, Texas, while Delta Airlines praised him in their "Artist Spotlight" as their "Artist of the Month" for February. His song "Legend" is featured in the recent promos for NBC reality singing competition The Voice. "That was very exciting. You never know when those kind of things are going to happen. It works out perfectly. The judges are in fact 'legends' and I'm glad that they felt that this song could compliment them," he said.
In addition, Ludwig's breakout "Diggy" rocked a high-profile Target fall style spot as it cumulatively racked up over two million Spotify streams.
For his fans, he concluded, "I appreciate everybody who has been listening and following me. Keep an eye out for my debut album, which will be coming out in the summer."
