article imageInterview: Saint Asonia talks tour, future plans, Alter Bridge Special

By Markos Papadatos     Aug 2, 2016 in Music
Adam Gontier from the rock group Saint Asonia chatted with Digital Journal about their tour, favorite songs and the sophomore album that is in the works.
He is on tour with such musical acts as Alter Bridge, Breaking Benjamin and Disturbed. "That's a great tour. All the bands are super talented, and we are super honored to be a part of it," Gontier said.
Most recently, on July 30, Saint Asonia performed at the Nikon at Jones Beach Theater. During "Better Life," the band invited Mark Tremonti from Alter Bridge on stage with them, which marked the first time they do that collaboration together. "It was really cool having him on stage. He is obviously one of the most talented guitar players out there, along with Mike Mushok in our band. It was cool to get those two guys together, and to listen to them shred it. It was pretty amazing," Gontier said. "Mark is such a good guy, and all the guys from Alter Bridge are really nice guys. Myles Kennedy is incredible and has such a great voice. This tour is like a family tour, and it is really fun to be a part of it."
Gontier shared that "Let Me Live My Life" is one of his favorite songs to play live, and they use it to close their shows. "It is a lot of fun, and it has that bouncy feel to it," he said.
Following the tour, Saint Asonia is going to work on their second studio album. "We are just taking it day by day and week by week, and hopefully the timing will work out, and hopefully, there will be a second record out very shortly," he said.
Each day, he is motivated by the live show. "The reason we do this is because it's a great show. We are still a new band, and we are far from a household name. Our motivation is getting out there and playing shows," he said. "You will be hearing out name, Saint Asonia, for years to come."
