article imageInterview: Becky Buller discusses her three 2016 IBMA nominations Special

By Markos Papadatos     Aug 13, 2016 in Music
Bluegrass singer-songwriter Becky Buller chatted with Digital Journal about her three IBMA nominations this year, and her future plans.
Buller has been nominated in three International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) categories for "Female Vocalist of the Year," "Fiddle Player of the Year" and "Gospel Recorded Performance of the Year" for "The Savior is Born." "I don't know what to think," she said, with a sweet laugh. "This is awesome. It's very surreal. I am honored of course."
At last year's IBMA ceremony, Buller was nominated for seven awards, where she took home three wins for "Songwriter of the Year," "Emerging Artist of the Year" and "Recorded Event of the Year" for "Southern Flavor." "It was absolutely amazing," she said. "Every so often I need to come to my music room every so often to make sure that they happened."
On her plans for the future, Buller said, "I've been in the studio on and off this year. We don't have a title yet for our new album, and we are aiming to have it out in the spring. It will feature my band, and we will have some special guests."
She hinted that she has a new single coming out within a few weeks. "It's a special project, where the proceeds benefit a cause that is dear to my heart," she said.

Buller's band consists of Dan Boner on mandolin and fiddle, Brandon Bostic on dobro and acoustic guitar, Daniel Hardin on bass and Ned Luberecki on banjo.
Her professional moments include the birth of her daughter, Romy, as well as when they announced the IBMA awards a week ago, and Rolling Stone did a piece about the latest round of nominations. She was also featured on the cover of Fiddler Magazine in spring of 2012.
