Hot Chelle Rae’s Nash Overstreet talks ‘U Don’t Get 2 Do That’ EP (Includes interview)

Regarding the song selection for his U Don’t Get 2 Do That EP, Overstreet said, “I definitely make a lot of music, and I have easily close to 20 songs that I really love. I wanted this to represent me as an artist, and then I started thinking more about it. One song cannot tell the overall shape of a musician and what they sound like. I decided to do this EP and when I wrote the rest of the songs on there, they were really special, and they excited me in different ways. I picked the ones that were my favorite songs, and the most unique, while fitting together.”

Overstreet feels a great sense of creative and artistic freedom as an independent solo artist. “I’m super happy that right now when I’m making music, and I feel ready to share it with the fans, I can actually press ‘go’ and have it out to the world,” he said.

Regarding his future plans, Overstreet said, “I definitely hit the ground running. I’m producing and signed another artist, so we are working on her music. She writes a bunch of great songs for me, and we have been going back and forth on both of our projects.”

Nash Overstreet’s new EP is available on iTunes.
