Garbage to release autobiography, to embark on tour with Blondie

Garbage announced that they will be releasing their autobiographical book, This Is The Noise That Keeps Me Awake on July 4 on Akashic Books. In this account, they reflect on the last 22 years in the music business.

All four band members (Shirley Manson, Duke Erikson, Steve Marker, and Butch Vig) will tell their story of their musical journey in their own words. It includes rare photographs and pieces written by each of the band members. They co-wrote this book with former Rolling Stone journalist Jason Cohen.

This summer, Garbage will embark on a co-headlining tour in North America with fellow rock group Blondie. This “Rage and Rapture Tour” kicks off on July 5 in Saratoga, California. On August 1, they will be performing at the Beacon Theatre in New York City.

Garbage had formed in Madison, Wisconsin after they released their eponymous breakthrough studio album in 1995. The gained worldwide fame and success thanks to their distinct sound and provocative vocals. Throughout their career in the music business, Garbage has sold in excess of 15 million albums, and they have played live in over 35 countries.

In 2016, they released their sixth studio album, Strange Little Birds, through their own, independent record label. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Rock Albums, Independent Albums and Alternative Albums charts, and it reached No. 14 on the Billboard 200 all-genre charts.
