Gandhi’s Gun talk new music, touring plans, band origin and fans (Includes interview)

Gandhi’s Gun is a six piece band that features a male and female dual vocal front that infuses rock and electronic music. “We were listing out potential names and had been going through the usual process of trying to pick out a band name. One day, our bass player at the time said, ‘Dude, I’ve got the name. It’s Gandhi’s Gun.’ Initially, we all hated it. But it grew on us, and it stands out on a marquee,” they said.

On the origin of the band, they said, “Mik (singer/guitarist) was in a successful band in Las Vegas and moved to San Antonio in 2009. Wanting to start fresh, he met all the other members shortly thereafter who were playing in successful bands of their own. The group formed originally as a straightforward rock band. In 2016, Mik’s wife Erin and the bands DJ (Jarrod) were added to the lineup to extend the band’s musical boundaries.

Regarding their touring plans, they said, “We kick off our summer tour in July heading from Texas through the West and Midwest. The tour’s climax will take place in Quincy, California, where the band is scheduled to play at Joshuafest.”

On their single “Through It All,” they said, “It is about holding on to the one thing that gets you through the hard times. We know what that one thing is for us, and we hope this song encourages others (if they don’t know already) to know that there’s light at the end of any tunnel. The trick is to know you are never alone, and that there is a purpose behind everything.”

Gandhi’s Gun is distinct due to its sound and message. “Our sound is a combination of grunge, metal, and electronic music fronted by a male and female vocal. Our message is about life through a positive lens which is something not typically associated with heavier music,” they said.

They revealed that their future single might either be “Rescue Me” or “We Are the Stars.” They shared that in the near future there will be new music, additional tour dates, and a great deal of interaction on their social media networks.

A unique fact about the band is that Jarrod (DJ) is married to Preston’s (guitarist) sister Kristen, who is Preston’s twin.

For their fans, they concluded, “We are extremely grateful for the support shown by all of you. It truly isn’t possible to do what we do without you. When we are in your area, please come and say hi. We will always take the time to reciprocate, take photos, chat, and get to know you.”
