Drew Baldrige talks Macy’s iHeartRadio Rising Star, future plans (Includes interview)

“We’re here on Long Island. It’s nice,” he admitted. “We’ve been all over the place in the last year, where we played 185 shows, and this year, we are doing a lot of shows.”

Baldridge is a Top 5 finalist for Macy’s iHeartRadio Rising Star competition. “It’s super awesome. We are in the Top 5, which is super cool. No country artist has ever won this, so it’s great to be involved in this, and just to have this opportunity,” he said. “I have super-excited to make the Top 10, and now we are stoked to be in the Top 5.”

Baldridge revealed that there will be new music from him this summer, which will include a single, and hopefully a new EP out before 2018. “There will be lots of fairs and festivals this summer,” he said.

He praised his team around him for all of their love, guidance and support. “My team is awesome. I’m really lucky to have a great team of people around me, from my band to my publicist, to my manager, to my label team. We’re all in it to win it. I’ve been blessed,” he said.

His live acoustic set at the Pennysaver Amphitheater, which was presented by My Country 96.1 FM, garnered a glowing review from Digital Journal.
