Cumulus Media has launched the third annual national NASH Next competition, which is in search for America's next country music star.
Reigning CMA "Entertainer of the Year" Garth Brooks has joined this national campaign. This competition guarantees the winning artist a major record label contract, and the opportunity for national airplay. Big Machine Label Group's Scott Borchetta and Kix Brooks (from Brooks & Dunn) will serve as the competition's judges. Country Inns & Suites by Carlson will return as its national sponsor. Starting today, local artists can enter the competition via the NASH Next website.
The winner of this lengthy national competition will receive a record deal with NASH Next Records under the Big Machine Label Group. The NASH Next 2017 winner will receive substantial exposure, commensurate with a major label release, on Cumulus radio stations nationwide. 79 NASH/Cumulus stations in 62 markets will conduct local searches.
Last year's NASH Next winner, Todd O'Neill, released his breakthrough radio single "Love Again" in April and it entered the Billboard Hot Country Airplay charts in May, and it keeps climbing.
