Noy Eisen from "The Voice Israel" chatted with Digital Journal about her experience on the show and new single "More," which is out this summer.
On the message of her new song "More," she said, "It's the second single to be released for my upcoming EP. What distinguishes this track from my others is the new style I created with the production. It incorporates American pop music that I have loved since I was a little girl, with sounds from Middle Eastern musical genres that are very popular in my country, and that part of the world in general."
Eisen continued, "I grew up around the Middle Eastern culture and music, and I felt that it was time for me to honor that in my own music. I incorporated mainstream pop music with the unique vibe of my native country is very exciting because I'm very proud of where I come from! I'm hoping that style of instruments and production will be the trademark of my music and I'm continuing to develop this new genre."
She worked on this project with producer, Yarden "Jordi" Peleg. "Working with Jordi feels like home to me! We've been making music together since we were very young and there has always been an indescribable connection between us," she said. "I think the relationship between artist, producer, co-writers, or any kind of collaboration, is very important. If the producer understands the artist's vision, and they know how to work well as a team, it's amazing. Jordi and I know each other so well that in the studio, we can be on the same page without even discussing my vision for a song."
Her biggest musical influences growing up include Beyonce, Christina Aguilera and Elton John. She listed Bruno Mars or Justin Timberlake as her dream male collaboration choices. " I would certainly die happy for the opportunity to write or sing a song with Bruno Mars or Justin Timberlake," she said, with a sweet laugh.
When asked what genre she would classify her music as, she responded, "My music definitely falls into the pop genre, with an EDM influence too, especially in my tracks with Jordi. I don't like to limit music to one genre though, because I am open to and influenced by many different styles of music. The addition of those Middle Eastern elements led me to the name 'Arabic Pop,' which is the genre Jordi and I plan to keep developing through our collaborations."
On her future plans, she said, "My plans for the future right now include releasing 'More' (with a pending release date of August 30), then releasing my EP in the next few months. I will be playing shows in Tel Aviv this fall, and am hoping to perform live at a few LA venues in the next six months. I am always looking forward to creating new music, spending many late nights in the studio, and touring wherever I can with full band behind me. Of course, the next year I hope to be finding many new fans along the way too."
On being one of the last finalists in The Voice Israel, she said, "My show experience in The Voice: Israel was so incredible, it's indescribable. The thrills and excitements pushed me to the edge and helped me discover myself as an artist and performer. The competition forced me to bring out the best of my abilities. I learned so much, met so many talented musicians, and got the exposure and confidence I needed to release my first single 'Drown,' which I released in December 2015 with a music video that I produced as well."
She concluded, "The top priority for me is to be always available for my fans and have direct contact with them at concerts and via social media. I love responding to their messages and requests, learning about them and sharing as much as I can from my personal life, and inviting them to my shows."
