Growing up in Queens, New York, Gordon was a huge fan of music and he drew inspirations from such musical genres as hip-hop, freestyle, pop, 80’s metal, electronic/trance and techno, as well as punk and rock. “The list goes on, so the short answer to your question would be I would classify my music as pop-rock, sprinkled with an abundance of influences,” he said.
His greatest musical influence was the “King of Pop” Michael Michael Jackson, as well as Pharrell Williams, Butch Walker, Sting, Scott Weiland, Stevie B., Anberlin and Good Charlotte, among others.
On his future endeavors, Gordon said, “I am constantly writing. I am always writing words on paper or am coming up with guitar parts, drums parts (that’s always fun for me), always making music, ya know? Always. There are a string of shows in early 2017 and a video kicking the year off at high gear, which I am so grateful and ecstatic for. I will be releasing my new EP in the spring of 2017 with tours to follow.”
Regarding his songwriting inspirations, he said, “Just about anything can inspire my songwriting. Feelings of mine, feelings of others, perspective, personal experiences, my intrigue with love, any kind of relationship, my environment, many things inspire me, I like too appreciate just about anything in anything.”
His dream duet choices include such artists as Rod Stewart, Johnny Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls and Jordan Pundik of New Found Glory.
For aspiring singers, he concluded, “Find your voice and own it, no one else has your voice. Explore it and enjoy the journey, I’m still exploring mine. It’s so freeing when you’re ‘in it,’ when you’re in the ‘moment’ it’s undeniable. Put feeling into the words that you’ve written, have them paint a picture through the listener’s ears.”
