Regarding his new radio single, "A Girl Like You," Corbin said, "When I was looking for songs, my A&R guy found this song and played it for me. I asked him for a copy of that song, and I kept going back to that song. There was something about the energy and what it said. It is an upbeat and positive song. It had a great energy to it, and I wanted to put my take on it and make it mine, and I feel like we did that."
Corbin continued, "I am really very excited about 'A Girl Like You.' It gets a great response. I want to thank everybody out there for listening and liking the song. We hope a lot more people like it and listen to it."
Most impressive about Corbin is that he stay true to his traditional country roots. "That's really who I am, and I grew up loving that. No matter how far country music gets from its roots, it is very important for me to stick to who I am," he said.
Corbin had nothing but the kindest words about performing at Mulcahy's Pub and Concert Hall in Wantagh, New York. "That's a pretty cool little venue there," he said.
Regarding his future plans, Corbin said, "We are actually in the studio, where we are tracking some new material. Hopefully, we will have something out by the end of the summer."
On October 5, Corbin will be playing at The Wellmont Theater in Montclair, New Jersey, which is the rescheduled date for the March 17 show (which got postponed due to the weather conditions in the East Coast).
Corbin tipped his hat to the late country legends Merle Haggard and Lynn Anderson. "Merle Haggard is definitely one of my heroes. His music will always live on. When he sang or wrote about something, you could actually feel it when he sang it. Everybody could relate to his music," Corbin said. "Lynn Anderson was also a great artist, and those traditional artists really sang about real life. 'Rose Garden' is an iconic song."
