By Markos Papadatos     Sep 2, 2018 in Music
New York - On September 1, acclaimed electronic group Cash Cash sat down and chatted with Digital Journal following their set at the main stage at "Electric Zoo: The Big 10" in Randall's Island Park in New York.
The trio of electronic musicians is made up of brothers Jean Paul Makhlouf and Alexander Luke Makhlouf, as well as Samuel Warren Frisch. "It was absolutely amazing to play Electric Zoo. It was our second time playing here," Jean Paul Makhlouf said.
"We brought ABIR to the stage to sing 'Finest Hour' with us and she crushed it," Samuel said. "This is a hometown show for us, so the energy is good."
Alexander is drawn to electronic music due to its "great energy" and the fact that it brings the "community together."
Jean Paul listed Pink as their dream female collaboration choice. "That would be a good collab," they said.
They defined the word success as being able to do music full-time for a living. "We don't have any side jobs," Jean Paul admitted. "We are lucky enough to make this our focus every single day. We set goals every year, we achieve them, and then we set bigger goals, and that's success," Samuel added.
On the impact of technology on the electronic music scene, they said, "It is changing every day so you need to keep up with it. Be grateful that you get to make music for a living, instead of focusing on how things are changing. You have to roll with it."
Cash Cash shared that they use technology every day, especially in the music creation process. "We are using plug-ins, new instruments and sounds. Technology helps us interact with our fans all across the world. Instagram and Twitter are great tools," Samuel said.
Alexander thanked their fans for always being there, and for supporting them. "They are a perfect example of seeing our music react. We are here because of them, and seeing them sing along to our songs at this hometown show is incredible. We will continue to do what we do," Jean Paul said.
