Brett Kissel wins big at 2017 CCMA awards

Kissel took home multiple awards at this year’s ceremony, where was named “Interactive Artist of the Year” for the fourth consecutive time, and he won his second consecutive “Male Artist of the Year” trophy.

His moving music video for “I Didn’t Fall in Love With Your Hair,” featuring Carolyn Dawn Johnson, took home the award for “Video of the Year”; moreover, Brett Kissel’s “Home Movie” on Corus Entertainment was named “Country music program or special of the year.”

This brings Kissel’s CCMA awards total to 10 trophies. At the award ceremony, Kissel performed his new tune “We Were That Song.”

In addition, he was nominated in the CCMA categories for “Songwriter of the Year” and “Single of the Year” for “Cool With That.”

Country artist Paul Brandt was inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame.
