Ally Ryan talks new pop single ‘Wasted,’ Chris Martin of Coldplay (Includes interview)

She shared that her new single “Wasted” came about after she became very obsessed with a guy to the point, where it became unhealthy. “It is about a love that is so intense that it becomes toxic,” she said.

Ryan is a finalist for Next Wave Musical.ly. “I am so excited about being a finalist!” she exclaimed. “I love watching the musers bring the record to life. It’s been really cool to experience!”

Her plans for the future include making lots of music. “I plan to continue to write for myself along with other artists, and collaborate with as many creatives as possible. I also see lots of touring in my future. Shows are a must,” she underscored.

Ryan’s musical inspiration is derived from her feelings. “Whatever I am going through at the time is usually what inspires me the most,” she said.

She listed Coldplay front-man Chris Martin as the primary choice for her dream male collaboration in life. In addition, she would love to sing with Adam Levine from Maroon 5, Drake, Bon Iver and “The Biebs.”

The songstress opened up about how she uses technology as part of her daily routine and life. “Technology plays a massive part in my daily routine. I rely on my phone more than anything in this world, which is pretty sad. Apart from the everyday texting, calling, and social media interactions, I use my phone to write a lot of my thoughts down. Most of my songs are born over the voice memo app,” she said.

Ryan continued, “Like anything else, technology has its pros and cons, but I do think that it’s done a lot of good for the industry. The fact that talent from all walks of life is now available at the click of a button has definitely changed the game.”

For her fans, she concluded about “Wasted,” “I’m hoping fans are able to relate to the song and the message behind it! It’s easy to get caught up in a relationship and lose a part of yourself, and I wanted fans to know that they aren’t alone in that!”

“Wasted” is available on iTunes.
