Adam Hambrick talks ‘Rockin’ All Night Long,’ Kacey Musgraves (Includes interview)

Hambrick co-wrote the song with Kelly Archer and Pete Good. On his new single, “Rockin’ All Night Long,” Hambrick said, “I was half delirious in the middle of the night. I was rocking my newborn girl at the time, so I started singing, and this title came to me. I thought it would be a great beer and tailgates country song. I had the story mapped out that night at 4 a.m. and I took that idea to my friends, Kelly and Pete, and we wrote it. I am really proud of that song, and while it is unique to me, it is relatable to a lot of people.”

He praised fellow country star Justin Moore for discovering him. “I can’t say enough good things about Justin,” he said. “Justin called his producer and his producer reached out to me and invited me to Nashville to write songs.”

Hambrick’s plans for the future are to “hit the road a lot more this year,” in an effort to introduce himself as an artist to the country fans. “That’s all we can do at this point. Keep releasing music and giving people the opportunity to connect with it. When a song connects, that’s when you are successful,” he said.

He listed Kacey Musgraves as his dream female duet choice in country music. “I love what Kacey Musgraves is doing. I love her voice and she would be the perfect dream duet partner in country music,” he said.

Digital transformation of the country music industry

On the impact of technology on the country music business, Hambrick said, “Everybody is trying to figure it out, and everybody is trying to keep their jobs, and they are trying to do the best they can. From that perspective, we are all in a similar place, and technology has made us newer artists less dependent on country radio. You may not have a hit on country radio, but if you have a hit on the streaming services, it can still help you sell a live show. Technology is a great opportunity for exposure for new artists, and another avenue to get the music out there.

Hambrick also spoke highly about the passage of the Music Modernization Act. “I am really excited about it. Obviously, it was needed,” he said. “I’m a songwriter first and it helps me, as well as the future of songwriting and the profession.”

He defined the word success as “consistency” and “growth.” “Consistently and growth lead to where I want to get to. I don’t see success as an ultimate destination but as a thing that happens when you get to do the things that you love,” he explained.
