Nashville - "Nashville" actor and musician Charles Esten has joined the fight against blood cancer. He made the announcement on his Facebook page.
Esten, best known for his portrayal of Deacon Claybourne in ABC's Nashville is going to walk with friends, family and fans across the country, as part of "Light the Night Walk." He will be serving again as the 2016 "National Light The Night" honorary chairperson.
The Light The Night Walk is The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's evening walk that will take place on October 21 in Nashville, Tennessee. It is also a fund-raising event that brings optimism to those that are battling cancer. Participants raise funds for vital research and patient services, and they carry illuminated lanterns in support of those who have survived, as well as those that are battling cancer, and those that have lost the fight.
This is a cause that is dear to Charles Esten's heart, especially since his daughter, Addie, is a leukemia survivor. The actor revealed that Addie has been healthy and cancer-free for over 14 years, and he is honored to represent The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and its fund-raising efforts.
