This marks Pentatonix’s third holiday studio album, and it was the second time that they topped the Billboard 200 all-genre charts. The CD was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for sales in excess of one million units, and it subsequently became the fifth best-selling album of the year.
A Pentatonix Christmas has stayed at the top spot on the Billboard Holiday Albums Chart for nine weeks since its release; moreover, their cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” sits at No. 5 on the Billboard Digital Songs charts, and the song’s music video has gone viral.
All of Pentatonix’s holiday albums have sold over 3.8 million units in American alone. They have won two Grammy awards, and they are nominated for the 2017 Grammy award for “Best Country Duo/Group Performance” for their arrangement of “Jolene,” where they collaborated with country queen Dolly Parton.
