98 Degrees’ Jeff Timmons reflects on My2K tour, guests, ‘Droned’ (Includes interview)

Their critically-acclaimed My2K tour has come to a close, and he was really proud of the outcome. They shared the roster with such musical acts as Ryan Cabrera, Dream and O-Town. “The tour was incredible. I had the time of my life and the group couldn’t be closer. It was a great turnout, and it was great to see fans come out and embrace the nostalgia. We really tapped into something there, and I couldn’t be more grateful or more excited about what the possibilities hold for the future.”

This tour featured surprise guest appearances from Joey Fatone from ‘N Sync, AJ McLean from the Backstreet Boys and even Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray, all of which joined 98 Degrees on stage. “That was a luxury,” he said. “We idolized those guys. To have them on stage with us was completely an honor.”

Speaking of McLean and Fatone, both of them were a part of Dead 7 with Timmons, so it was extra meaningful for them to make cameos on the My2K tour. “I have a relationship with those guys outside of the boy bands, because of Dead 7. I absolutely was very happy about those guys showing up and being a part of my show,” he said.

On August 27, the Grammy-nominated pop group performed at The Beach at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, which was a homecoming show for Timmons. “It was great to be home, and the show was completely sold out. It was a great experience and it was good to be with my family,” Timmons said. “For us, to get that reaction in Las Vegas, and to see the excitement in the crowd and audience is very gratifying.”

98 Degrees’ show at the NYCB Theatre at Westbury garnered a glowing review from Digital Journal.

He served as one of the producers of Droned, which was on the Discovery Science Channel. “It did very well, and I don’t know whether it’s going to have another leg,” he said.

For the time being, Timmons will be taking it easy for the rest of the year, and he is looking forward to spending it with his family. When asked if he were to have a fragrance named after him, he decided that “Sexy Daddy” would be a cool name for it.
