According to
Miss Info,
Lil Boosie, who was originally set to be
released from prison in August, is now scheduled to become a free man February 13.
Boosie's brother and manager Taquari Hatch spoke with
NOLA.com in December following reports that his brother would be released from prison in August. Hatch told NOLA about his brother's growth and improvement in prison, and discussed possibilities for an earlier release. The article also reports that Boosie recently completed a substance abuse course which may have expedited his prison release,
HipHopDX reports.
"He has plans to go straight to the studio to begin working on an album as well as his tour," Boosie’s brother told
NOLA in December. Hatch also revealed that his brother would start touring in "late spring, early summer." The article also reports that Boosie will remain under supervision through June 17, 2018.
Just a week ago, Boosie's official
Twitter posted "#COUNTDOWN" in regards to his upcoming release.
Last March, Boosie received his
GED in prison.
Last year, in an exclusive interview with
Spin Magazine, Boosie talked about his plans to continue making music. "I have about 500 songs at the moment. I'm ready to get in the studio with the best producers. I feel that I'm making the best music I've ever made. The more I go through in life the better my music gets and it's been crazy the last three years," Boosie revealed. "I keep my music heartfelt and stick to making real music. I wouldn't even say it's hip-hop music. My music is 'reality rap.' Hip-hop music can make you dance and bob your head, but it can't make you cry or touch your heart like reality rap."
Boosie has been in prison since 2009.
