article imageGolden Globes red carpet floods just hours before ceremony

By Matthew Hendricks     Jan 18, 2014 in Odd News
Just hours before the start of the Golden Globes Awards ceremony, the red carpet turned into a soggy mess that one carpet-walker described as smelling like a wet dog.
Hollywood Reporter said that it was a lighting rig that set off a fire sprinkler. This sprayed water on various cameras and the red carpet.
The Beverly Hills Fire Department used air blowers and wet vacuums to clean up the spill.
According to Cbsnews.com the Beverly Hills Fire Department worked with maintenance staff at the Beverly Hilton hotel to remove the water.
Sections of the red carpet were cut up and replaced.
The Wrap said the cause of the flood was a light that was set up too close to a sprinkler head.
However, despite the incident the red carpet opened at its regularly scheduled time.
