“What’s up?” Kerrigan asked, as she took the Paramount stage. She expressed her love for the East Coast, where people are more aggressive and “in your face.” She also poked fun at a few people coming in late to her show. She shared that she grew up in South Philly, where one’s motto is “if you see something, you say nothing.” “I always want to start a fight,” she admitted. “The anger just comes out,” she added.
Kerrigan noted that she is one of 10 children, and she has six brothers. She explained that her mom had 10 kids, and they were all born 15 years apart (from the youngest to the oldest). In her family, there were even Irish twins that were born in the same year. She acknowledged that she personally hates kids.
Growing up in Philly, she noted that stealing National Geographic magazines from the dentist’s office was the equivalent of porn, where nowadays those magazines are homework. One of the most relatable parts of her set was when she spoke about being driven in station wagons as a kid, with no seat belts, where all her siblings would hang out in the back and a dog. “The dog was not ours. It was just there,” she said, jokingly.
The comedian acknowledged that people get offended very easily these days, so kids end up playing such things as “tag-less tag.” She also pointed out that people have options, where they can be pro-life or pro-choice, but those safe pro-life people are for the death penalty, which makes no sense to her, and rightfully so. “You guys are fantastic,” she said, praising The Paramount audience.
