Actor Peter Dinklage won the 2018 Primetime Emmy award for his portrayal of Tyrion Lannister on the HBO drama series "Game of Thrones."
This year, Dinklage bested stiff competition from such nominated actors as Game of Thrones cast-mate Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, David Harbour in Stranger Things (Netflix), British actor Joseph Fiennes in The Handmaid's Tale (Hulu), Mandy Patinkin in Homeland, and Matt Smith in The Crown (Netflix).
Dinklage was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for "Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series" for his acting work in the episode "The Dragon and the Wolf."

In his acceptance speech, Dinklage thanked his wife, Erica, for putting up with him despite being "temperamental," George R. R. Martin for creating Game of Thrones, as well as his fellow cast member Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, whom he described as an "amazing, handsome brother."
