Huntington - On July 7, 2018, comedian Andrew Dice Clay headlined The Paramount in Huntington on Long Island, as part of his first of two nights at the venue.
South Philly comedian Eleanor Kerrigan opened for Andrew Dice Clay, where she was able to get the stage warmed up for him. She introduced him as the "undisputed Heavy Weight King of Comedy."
When Clay took the stage, received a standing ovation from The Paramount audience. He clarified that he is not into politics and religion, since "people are assholes." He continued with his jokes about Sprint and Verizon, as well as Starbucks. Clay explained that he is a fan of Chick-fil-A, which blows Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) off the roof.
He also voiced his opinions on gender-neutral bathrooms, and even included Bruce Jenner (who now goes by Caitlyn Jenner) in that joke.
One of the highlight moments was when he was talking to Joe, a member of the audience, who has been married for 54 years with his wife. Clay had a heart-to-heart with Joe, whom he dubbed "Joe 54," while sitting on a chair on a stage, and told him that he has done marriage for 30 years, but he switches his wives up all the time. Clay feels that "talking kills relationships." " I get married all the time," he told Joe.
Clay also discussed aging, and how everything falls apart when one gets older, including one's sex organs. Also, without getting too political, he briefly mentioned President Trump in his routine.
For his encore, Clay returned back to stage, and allowed all fans to take their cell phones out to record him performing his classic yet dirty nursery rhymes.
The Verdict
Overall, Andrew Dice Clay put on a memorable live comedy show at The Paramount. He was vituperative and unfiltered, but his clever jokes worked, and they had the audience entertained the entire time. Clay is worth seeing live when he comes to town. His live set at The Paramount garnered four out of five stars.
